Imbolg / Lughnasadh 2016

The August winds are upon us, and although the wind is icy, the warm sun is shining through. Imbolg / Imbolc is here! Let the fires burn rich with warm incenses so that the Sun God may bring with him the promise of Spring and the warmth of Summer.

Some may only celebrate the eve (1st of August) some may celebrate the day (2nd of August), though there is no reason why we can't celebrate both days and carve our own practices out. These are our sacred days, use the time to honour your deity, and use the time to honor the Earth, soon she will be sprouting with life of the coming crops. Pour honey and milk into the earth as you ask the Goddess to bring blessings of an abundant harvest to come, and thank her for the gifts you are receiving in all areas of your life. The Great Mother does so much for us, and although we honor the maiden Goddess Brigid (Bre'ed) at this time, remember that she will become the mother soon enough. She does so much work for us because of her love for us, remember to thank her now and always, and especially when the moon is at her fullest.

For our friends in the North, you harvest season has begun as you celebrate Lughnasadh. Thank the Goddess for your bounty and blessings. At this moment for you she is mother, show her thanks and gratitude in your prayers and as you pick your harvests.

May this time bring blessings for everyone!
As it is above, so it is below
As it is with out, so it is within,
So mote it be!
Blessed Be!
