A CHANGE IN LUCK

I woke up this morning, broke my coffee cup. I then managed to break off a large kitchen cupboard door, and sprained an ankle during my morning jog... sigh! Perhaps it's one of those days where I should remain in bed.

After having a chat with a neighbor of mine, I discovered that I was not the only having my fair share of "bad luck" these days. So I popped down to the store, purchase a couple of green candles, and blessed them with a luck changing spell (written below). As my neighbor is Christian, I associated arch angels with the various elements to allow the energies of her own beliefs to be incorporated. You're welcome to leave this part out or adjust it according to your own beliefs.

Set up your circle for Magickal workings as you normally would and call on the spirits and deity of your choosing. While you are doing this spell you can burn sandalwood, or better yet, sage, for their protective and cleansing properties.

Bless and cleanse your candle(s) in the usual way, and when you are ready, with the candle still unlit on your altar, cup your hands around it and say the following invocation three times, as you do visualize the spirits / angels gathering around the candle and blessing it as you work

Michael, Spirit of Fire I invoke you
Raphael, Spirit of Water I invoke you
Samael, Spirit of Earth I invoke you
Uriel, Spirit of Air I invoke

Bless this candle

Still with the candle unlit and your hands cupped around it, say the below invocation 5 times, as you do so, close your eyes and visualize the candle being lit. Visualize it literally sucking in the darkness from around you and your home, all the dark energy or bad luck you have been experiencing, or the bad moods and negative emotions and thoughts. Visualize it all being sucked into the flame of the candle and being transformed into light and positive energy.

As this candle burns may it draw in the darkness and turn it to light.
May all that is bad and dark become good and light
May bad luck become good luck
May financial worries become financial successes
As this candle burns may it draw in the darkness until only light remains

As it is above so it is below
So mote it be

Light the candle and repeat the above invocation another 5 times or until you feel that it is fully charged, and performing the task you have blessed it for.

When you have finished, open your circle and clean your space as you would in the usual way.

SHORT ON TIME

It is the week of the full moon and I have begun having a good look at the projects I have completed, and the ones I am still to complete. Last night I found myself in a mild panic when looking at how quickly the days weeks, and months are passing by. Almost every second day seems to be a Friday, and my to do list is to get longer and longer.

After a night of restless sleep, with moments of suddenly waking up (something I'm sure MANY of us business owners experience regularly), I dug out a piece of pink tourmaline to help calm my nerves. I repeated a mantra that everything was going to work out just fine, and finally managed to get a few hours worth of sleep in.

This morning, when making an offering to the Goddess and saying my prayers of gratitude, I said a little prayer that I have been saying quite regularly over the past year or so, and I thought I would share it with you today. After saying my gratitudes for the day, my family and my business I usually say:
Bless this ahead day, may the time go slowly and the work go quickly.
And then I visualize myself making it through the day, getting all my work down with no unforeseen obstacles. Since I have been starting my days like this (especially during busy peek times) I have found that my days tend to go much smoother than if I just begin my work day in a mild panic.

King of Cups

This card represents the balance of masculine and feminine energies, as the masculine king holds the feminine, emotional cup in his hands. Going into the change of seasons, this is usually quite evident, as we near the equinox, day and night become balanced and the God and Goddess share their times together, before facing their more dominant season of summer or winter.

It is also a time for us to find more balance in our lives, a balance between work and play, balance between spirituality and every day life. Spend some time over the next week looking at what areas of your life may be out of balance, and what you can do to restore harmony.

Feeling like a Monday Morning

This morning I woke up to find myself feeling angry and frustrated, but for no real reason at all. In fact I just feel upset with the world as a whole, and with human beings in general. I'm upset with the way the earth and it's natural resources are used and abused, I'm upset with the greedy and parasitic tendencies of mankind and large corporations, politicians, etc. I'm just upset with the whole lot... this week's tarot card though does seem to shed some light on what I am feeling, and I bet it's not just myself, but a lot of people who are sensitive to the energies of the world around us may just be feeling the same way.

I know that there is not much I can do, but I do try. Today I think the best thing for me may be to burn some sage and sandalwood and clear out my personal energy and release my negativity. I'm also going to burn a white candle and visualize only good things happening in the world around me, say my prayers of gratitude and try send out as much positive energy out into the world as I possibly can. I know it's not much really, but sometimes I wonder if we all start our days with practices like this, maybe the world would stat to become a better place, one morning prayer to the Goddess at a time.

Pagan Find of the week

Last week I was going through my folders... and folders of writing on my computer. Some things I thought I had lost, and some things I can barely even remember having written, but then I came across a collection of meditations I had written almost ten years ago. I was quite surprised to have found it, having survived a good number of computer crashes, and myself having gone through at least 3 computers during that time.

I started to read what I had written, what a journey of memories this find has taken me on. In fact it was what had originally inspired my launching The Wicca Series. My original goal at the time was to write and share a series of Wiccan based meditations. Somewhere over the next decade though, it had managed to get placed on the back burner, and finally forgotten, until last week when I discovered my little treasure trove of writings.

I have decided to go through them, revise and update the meditations and to start sharing my work. I've written meditations for all the Sabbats, an Esbat meditation as well as a few others. The first one I launched in our Etsy store last week Meditation to find your sacred Astral Space. It's a pdf document that will take you through the meditation, and help you to discover a place within yourself where you can find peace and calm, and perhaps even perform a little Magick. Reading for the Week

This week's card is taken from The Mythic Tarot

Three of Swords

This card could very well explain why I woke up feeling so out of sorts this morning, and I bet I was not the only one. A release of energy, something that may feel painful now, but it is necessary. We are looking at something we must go through, no matter how unpleasant, in order to get somewhere better. Sometimes something requires conflict before it resolves itself, or allows us to move on to the path of our true selves and our True Will.

Imbolg / Lughnasadh 2016

The August winds are upon us, and although the wind is icy, the warm sun is shining through. Imbolg / Imbolc is here! Let the fires burn rich with warm incenses so that the Sun God may bring with him the promise of Spring and the warmth of Summer.

Some may only celebrate the eve (1st of August) some may celebrate the day (2nd of August), though there is no reason why we can't celebrate both days and carve our own practices out. These are our sacred days, use the time to honour your deity, and use the time to honor the Earth, soon she will be sprouting with life of the coming crops. Pour honey and milk into the earth as you ask the Goddess to bring blessings of an abundant harvest to come, and thank her for the gifts you are receiving in all areas of your life. The Great Mother does so much for us, and although we honor the maiden Goddess Brigid (Bre'ed) at this time, remember that she will become the mother soon enough. She does so much work for us because of her love for us, remember to thank her now and always, and especially when the moon is at her fullest.

For our friends in the North, you harvest season has begun as you celebrate Lughnasadh. Thank the Goddess for your bounty and blessings. At this moment for you she is mother, show her thanks and gratitude in your prayers and as you pick your harvests.

May this time bring blessings for everyone!
As it is above, so it is below
As it is with out, so it is within,
So mote it be!
Blessed Be!
