Why you should daydream

A few years ago I read Richard Branson's book "Screw it, let's do it", an insightful book for any budding entrepreneur. One of the things he mentions in his book, which has always stuck with me, is that he allows, and often encourages employees to daydream (within reason of course), why? Well daydreaming allows a person to visualize bigger things happening... and often motivates them to do just that.

I recently performed a reading for a client where the same idea came up, which is what inspired me to write today's blog post.

You see, daydreaming allows us to visualize what we would like to come into reality. Believe it or not, but just by staring out of your office window every day, daydreaming about how happy you would be to start your own business would eventually inspire you to take action to do just that. Daydreaming is a powerful tool that we can use every single day to better ourselves.

So here's a challenge... that's right I challenge YOU my readers and followers to do the following for the next week:

Step 1: What do you really want from life? Really think about it, and ask yourself what is your truth?

Now I want you to start a journal, on the very first page of that journal write down that goal you want to accomplish in your life, it can be anything - big or small. Write it down and with as much detail as you can imagine. Know in your heart that this is something that you would like to bring more of into your life.

Step 2: Just daydream

That's right. Set your timer on your phone for 10 minutes, and every day, time yourself for those ten minutes, and all you do during that time is stare off into the distance daydreaming about how good it will feel if your goal in step 1 was a reality in your life.

Daydream about what you would do, where you would go, etc... you can do this as many times as you want in a day, just as long as it's once a day at least

Step 3: Write about it

After every daydreaming session, write about it in your journal, write about your experiences of what you felt and imagined during your moments of daydreaming

Step 4: Share it

When the week is complete, if you managed to finish the daydreaming challenge, you are welcome to share it with us on our Facebook Page  - this part of course is not compulsory, but we always like to hear about our followers' "feel good" stories.

At the end of the day, the important thing is that you did this for yourself... and you're welcome to continue doing it for well past the week's challenge!

Reading for the Week

This week's card is taken from  The Rider Waite Tarot

Nine of Wands

Take a deep breath and calm down... don't let your anxieties and worries get to you.

Don't let everything just overwhelm you, take it one step at a time, one day at a time. You will find that most of your worries at the end of the day have no foundation in truth.

Now is also the time to dissect those things that have been bothering you, you fears and worries, break them down to the core and find the source of the issue.

Don't be afraid to ask for help, that doesn't mean you are week, in fact asking for help can be one of the strongest actions you can take to help you to work through any problems, there is no need to feel that you are alone.
