FINDING INNER PEACE

The moon is full this week (20th July 8am SAST/UCT+2), and I must admit I am quite ready  to have the energies of the past month come to a conclusion. Not only has my own energy been out of whack, but perhaps that of everyone's energy around me.

I am planning on doing a full moon cleansing, burning a lot of sage and releasing negative, unwanted energies and preparing myself to move forward with fresh new energies. From tomorrow I will start making plans for the projects I want to start over the period of the next new moon, At least once or twice a year I tend to feel that I need a change in focus, and this is one of those times, so as you can imagine this has lead me to doing a lot of reflecting and meditating lately, which takes me to my Pagan find of the week.

Pagan find of the week

Insight Timer app
I was chatting to a friend a couple of weeks ago, saying how "out of sorts" I felt and she suggested to me that I try this app (available through Play stores and iStores).

It's an app that helps you to stick to daily meditations practices. It gives you access to almost any type of meditation imaginable, from gratitude to mindfulness, yoga meditations, music (my favorite being singing bowls), meditations for clearing and cleansing, balancing your chakras, healing, abundance, prosperity, you name it and you will probably find it on this app.

There are two versions available. A free version that give you access to thousands of recorded meditations, as well as a personal meditation timer that allows you to time your meditations spent in silence. You can also invite friends and join groups of like-minded individuals. I myself have joined a few groups for fellow Pagans who like to meditate too, as well as one for gratitude.

You can follow your progress, see how many meditations you've done, how much time you have spent in meditation, and watch as you reach personal milestones as you track your progress during your search for inner peace. It even has a nifty option for you to see how many people are meditating at any given time at any point in the world.

There is also a paid version that offers a few extra perks, like different bell and gong sounds used in quiet meditations, etc. Though the free version does offer plenty of choices for the everyday user.

I personally can't stop singing its praises, I have fallen in love with this app and I'm determined to share it with anyone who will listen (or read). So feel free to give it a try and get ready to become a much more relaxed and balanced person.

Reading for the week ahead

This week's reading is coming from The Mythic Tarot

Six of Swords

The six of swords portrays a situation of moving away from turbulent, difficult feelings towards a calmer and more serene state. It represents harmony and finding peace within yourself and your life circumstances.

It is a time of coming to understand your life's path and finding peace of mind and heart in doing so.
