Omorose Mesi (Beautiful Water)

Water: Over 80% of our Earth is water, 80% of our bodies are water, it is in tune and guided by the energy of our moon, and it provides life to all living things. It's probably one of the most important and magickal elements of life force that exists. We use it every day, for eating, drinking, bathing, watering plants, etc and we become so used to it just always being there, that if it were to ever disappear or become contaminated, I don't think it would be until that point in which humanity as a whole, would truly realise just how special water is.

The Ancient Egyptians, were revered for their advanced technology and knowledge of things.  They had a name for water: “ Omorose Mesi”, which translates into “Beautiful Water”. They used it for cleansing as they embalmed their dead, offered water to their Patrons, helped them in their creation of what we call today beer and embraced the powers of The Nile,  which was worshipped entirely as its own entity having provided their main source of nourishment and life.

Humanity today, especially western societies, seem to be more focused on their 9-5 jobs and the latest smart phone, rather than connecting with nature and embracing water as a life source.
And it's ok, we are all guilty of being this way, sometimes we cannot help it! That is why I would like to share with you a ritual based soley around water and is something we can easily incorporate daily! This ritual is to help you change your vibration with water and really connect with this element.

Shower Magick:

Gather some local/fresh herbs and/or flowers (whatever is available to
Prepare incense (does not matter which kind as all incense have properties of cleansing)

Place your herbs/flowers around your shower head, simple string is easy to use to bundle them together and then hang.
Light your incense and step into your shower, and as you feel the water falling down your body, visualise it collecting all the things you no longer wish to carry with you for the day. See the water go down the drain and see all this negative energy go down with it, leaving your body, therefore leaving your spirit. As you are visualising this speak these words for as many times as you wish:

“I am pure water,  I am healing life, I am love”.

Whenever you get the chance to spend time next to water, you can also say these words as you glance upon it's glistening surface. Embrace it's presence, feel the energy coming from it and breath in the air around you. Be grateful for running, fresh water, be mindful as to how you use it and remember to nourish your body with this wonderful gift!

Ten of Cups

In general the ten of cups refers to a happy time, and especially a happy family life and to general well being going beyond you, and to those that you love the most. For most of us, our families are precious, whether it's the family you are born into or the family that you create for ourselves. Now is a good time to spend time with those you love and especially to tell them how much you love and appreciate them.

Autumn Equinox 2017

As Demeter begins to mourn Persephone returning to Hades, She prepares for Winter, her tears flowing
through the roots of our dying crops, nourishing them with not only nutrients, but Her love, which will flourish under the frozen land, and birth new life for the return of Persephone in The Spring.

As we notice changes in our environment, we may also notice changes within ourselves. This Harvest season is a time to reflect on our past, but also plan for our future! As we mourn the death of The Sun God, we must also celebrate the life he has provided this past year. A perfect way to do that is by performing a simple ritual, either solitary or with friends.

Gather the gifts of autumn that surround you, leaves, pine cones, etc collect colours of oranges, reds and gold, and to honour this time of Harvest, gather nuts, fruits, ears of corn and grains to place on your altar, for offerings and for yourself, as you eat in the company of The Goddess and Sun God during your Equinox ritual.

As you begin your celebratory ritual, start with the following prayer by gathering your leaves and place them in your hand, standing before your altar’s slowly scatter them around you speaking these words:

“Leaves fall,
The days grow cold.
The Goddess pulls her mantle of Earth around Her
As You, O Great Sun God, sail toward the West
To the land of eternal enchantment,
Wrapped in the coolness of night.
Fruits ripen,
Seeds drip,
The hours of day and night are balanced.
Chill winds blow in from the South wailing laments.
In this seeming extinction of nature's power, O Blessed
Goddess, I know that life continues.
For spring is impossible without the second harvest,
As surely as life is impossible without death.
Blessings upon you, O Fallen God, as you journey into
The lands of winter and into the Goddess' loving arms.”

As the last few leaves begin to fall, say:

“O Gracious Goddess of all fertility, I have sown and
Reaped the fruits of my actions, good and bane.
Grant me the courage to plant seeds of joy and love in
The coming year, banishing misery and hate. Teach me the secrets
Of wise existence upon the planet.
O luminous one of the night!”

Offer mead/food to The Goddess & The Sun God, light a candle to channel his light into your heart and spirit. Live these cold winter days in warmth, for his light follows you and continues to guide you on your path!

Harvest Goodies

This time of year can be so magical. Everywhere you look, changes are occurring. Leaves turn to that magical golden orange colour, and there is a chill in the air that coerces us in the comforts of herbal tea, good company, comfort food and fire places.

As we approach the Autumn Equinox, we begin to prepare for harvest. A few hundred years ago, that meant culling crops and gathering the last of all you had grown. Today we do not need to worry about harvesting as much. As we prepare for winter there are many ways in which we can do so, physically, spiritually and mentally.

Something I like to do this time of year is bake Harvest Cookies! Now unfortunately this harvest season I am unable to make them, but I would love to share my recipe with you! Now the great thing about these cookies, is that you can put basically anything in them! All kinds of seeds, seasonal berries, herbs, etc.

Here is what you will need:

1 cup of flour
1/2 cup of milk
1 tbsp baking powder
1 egg (can be replaced with either peanut butter or apple sauce)
2 tsps brown sugar
1/2 tsp salt
Coconut oil

(Makes about 6 cookies)

Extras: Add whatever you wish! Pumpkin seeds, lavender, sage, blackberries, etc

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl, and then place onto a baking tray that has parchment paper placed onto it. Create balls of the dough, about 3 inches big, and space them apart. With a fork dipped into a bit of coconut oil, gently press down on each ball so it becomes flat. You can sprinkle brown sugar on top, or grated cheese if these are savory. Bake in the oven for about 10-15 minutes at 350 degrees Celsius, and voila!

Serve warm, with some herbal tea, and share with friends and family!

Four of Swords

This card is telling us that we may be feeling that we need a break, or some time alone. We may be feeling that we just need our own space. Communicate clearly with those around you, and let them know what your boundaries are. Don't expect the people around you to just know that you need your own time and space, tell them exactly what it is you need.

Create a time for meditation. If it's not something that's already a part of your daily routine, now is a great time to start practicing.
