Healing Autmn Soup

As we begin to enter the winter months and the weather is cooling down, the wife, myself and two of our cats find ourselves with a terrible dose of flu and kitty sniffles. All of this became worse when our poor little Gem, who was sick for the very first time in her almost 7 years in this life, suffered an extreme allergic reaction to a very common, considered safe antibiotic. In fact the reaction is so rare that I now have proof that she's definitely a one-in-a-million type of cat!

So while struggling with illness ourselves, we had very little sleep as we constantly had to keep an eye on Gem who's mouth, tongue and throat were so swollen that she could barely breathe. A few days later and her allergic reaction is cleared up, and now the vet has her on a new, safer antibiotic to help her recover from a very bad case of the sniffles.

A bit of chicken broth (with minimal salt, if any at all) is always a perfect healing meal for our sick kitties, however us mom's being vegetarian, have been having other soup options instead, because there's nothing quite like a bowl of warm soup to help you feel better when you are feeling horrid. Today I wanted to share with you my Healing Autumn Soup

What you need: 
1 x chopped onion
1 x teaspoon garlic
1/4 x teaspoon salt
1/4 x teaspoon mild curry powder (curry powder usually contains tumeric, which is anti-inflammatory, chiilies which are high in vitamin c, and the heat helps you to sweat more and release toxins from the body) - You can always add an additional teaspoon of tumeric, it's a wonderful healing herb
2 x grated potatoes
1/2 x cup of chopped celery
1/4 x cup of fresh cut parsley
2 x grated turnips
2 x grated carrots
1/2 x cup fresh cream

Place all your ingredients, except the cream, in a large pot, with enough water to cover the ingredients, plus an additional 2 cups. Bring to the boil and leave to simmer for about 30 minutes to make sure all the nutrients are released into the water. - Check from time to time to make sure there is enough water in your pot.

Just before serving the soup, pour in half a cup of fresh cream, and leave the soup to simmer for another 5 minutes,

When it is ready, enjoy. This is packed with vitamins and herbs and veggies to give your body an immune boost. 

While your veggies are cooking, from time to time stir the pot and visualize healing light pouring in from the universal and enriching your soup. I also usually visualize whoever is feeling ill, beginning to feel well again while they are eating the soup - I do this while preparing the ingredients and whenever I stir the soup during the cooking process.

You can also use a blessing to bless your soup before serving it to friends and family, I really like this one, which I picked up from Kristen's Page on PaganSpace.net

Sound of Music

A universal language, connecting thousands of hearts and spirits, uniting them as one. Passed on from generations, outliving centuries of cosmic and earthly change, surviving human evolution, continuing to raise the vibrations of the human race... Music has always inspired me on my path. It has been a constant reliable channel of support and Magick, that has seen me through my darkest and lightest times of my life. Offering solace, calmness and a sense of acceptance and love, in a world that often made me feel unwanted, unheard and unimportant.

Music is everywhere we go, and can resonate in both our minds and spirits. A daily inspiration, raising  vibrations with each unique rhythm. It heals unseen pain, can improve one's self esteem and creates long lasting memories. In itself, music is a form of Magick!

When I meditate, manifest, or simply am just going about with daily tasks and chores, music is my companion. It is a medium I use to express how I feel, to connect deeper with my spirituality, so whenever an offer of opportunity to listen, write or sing presents itself, it is never turned down. For I believe it is important to incorporate music into your everyday life. No matter your beliefs, your social status, your history. Music does not define, it does not isolate. It can make you feel emotions you have never felt before, and every single living being can connect to a song, relate to its words, emotions and sound with whatever they are currently experiencing in life. Therefore, giving great example of The Human Race, existing as one.

Express your emotions, fears, wants and desires

Embrace the music, light your inner fire

Hear the drums beat, a heart of song

Hear your voice, it's been singing all along

Listen to your melody, the one that follows you

THE MONTH OF LOVE

                                                            Power of Love

“I feel it in my fingers, I feel it in my toes, the love that's all around me, and so the feeling grows....”

            Love is one the oldest and strongest known energies of The Universe. It is what connects us with each other and can offer us a lifetime of spiritual and emotional lessons. Love energy is what makes our individual Magick that much more powerful, and is what can help attract our manifestations. Although it is frowned upon to interfere with the free will of others, for instance focusing our love energy in the manifestation of a typical “Love Spell”, giving more focus and intent towards attracting more love energy into our lives, for the right intentions, can prove to be somewhat wondrous.

            If you are currently desiring to attract more love energy into your life, one way to do so is to create a love attraction talisman: a physical object that can help you visualize your manifestations into being. One of my favourite things to use when channeling my love energy is rose quartz.

Here’s a simple talisman that you can create, all you will need is rose quartz, lavender, sage and a small, cloth or silk pouch. All these ingredients are correspondent with love, and therefore, together, create their own threefold empowered love energy! Simply cleanse all these items (pass through incense, fresh water, etc) and place them inside the pouch. If you wish you can also include a small note, clearly stating your intent, describing the kind of love you want in your life, (keep in mind to not interfere with the free will of others), and place it under your pillow. When we are asleep, our bodies and minds heal, as well as our spirit, and we enter a realm of endless possibilities. Sleep is a magical thing and can help attune our higher selves with positive manifestation results. Keep this talisman under your pillow for as long as you feel is needed, and embrace the shift of abundant love energy in your life.

 And remember that love is written in the wind, and everywhere we go.

Grateful Blessings

             Without even realizing it, we are constantly using and channeling Magick in our everyday lives. As a result, often we forget to show our gratitude and thankfulness for the blessings, great or small, that we receive daily. If you're like me, sometimes we are a bit blind to notice these blessings that occur as our day goes by, and the last thing on our mind with our often busy and hectic lives, is to take time to give our gratitude to the Goddess and God.

            All it takes is a small portion of time out of your day or week, to incorporate gratitude Magick or spell work. Whether it is simply just meditating at your altar for ten minutes, focusing on the things that you are grateful for, or a reciting a simple prayer that is easy to memorize.

            When you do find some time to show gratitude along your path, here is a simple prayer that will help you do so! When reciting this prayer, begin to focus on all things in your life that you are grateful for. Lighting incense such as Myrrh or Frankincense is often corresponded with gratitude, as well as fresh lavender. Courtesy of Nathalie Beulah:

When we can step back and look at our lives from a third person perspective, we allow ourselves to notice the small gifts and blessings that we are receiving. We begin to notice things in nature that are so often looked over, for example; when new flowers being to grow, or an Eagle sitting on his perch having the sun bask down on him. When we begin to incorporate gratitude into our Magick and our daily lives, we become more fulfilled, and open opportunities for an abundance of happiness.

May you ever continue to be blessed on your path, and may the light of this world fill your hearts with not only gratitude, but love.
